Jon and Inna’s Detroit Blue House is a lovely remodel of a by gone era home with high end modern updates. It is both beautiful and functional as you feel you stepped into a magazine.
It is as described, better than pictured and easier to find than I expected. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. The bath towels were warm fluffy thick cotton, easily accessible, plentiful, neat and fresh. Making food and cleaning up was simple as everything needed was in easy reach, easy to find, and easy to put away. Full size refrigerator was cold and pristine clean with fresh ice in freezer trays.
The large dining table was comfortable and cleaned up in a breeze even as it looked too nice to eat on. The open flow of the living area allowed for quality family time. The big screen tv drew in the younger kids and the teens found good books to read. We were able to share the one bathroom just fine for the extra space and private shower. The three bedrooms were tastefully decorated with no clutter.
We felt very safe and comfortable with the owners living upstairs of this older urban style duplex. Detroit needs to recover and this home is a big start. We could see that, yet felt proud to be apart of this neighborhood getting back on its feet. Meanwhile, we got a 5 star experience at a much more affordable price. We feel it was family friendly. The kitchen wall is a chalk board and my kids were quick to write thank you pictures on the bottom half.
There was so much attention to detail. The owners have been very kind in all communication and the stay was very comfortable in all regards. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends and family that travel through Detroit.
We plan to come back again.
