We had a delightful stay at the Detroit Blue House! Jon was exceptionally kind and responsive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. He was accommodating of unexpected changes and there were so many lovely touches in the home!

The space itself was beautiful, they had fresh ground coffee for our stay, and the house had everything needed for our 2-night stay. The beds were very comfortable and with all the basics provided it was exactly what you want an Airbnb stay to be!

We also felt very safe staying as a group of women with the security system and cameras. All and all this was a delightful stay and we will definitely stay again next time we find ourselves in Detroit.

Born and raised in Michigan. I have always loved Detroit, it's history and have always defended it's bad rap from outsiders. Not going to lie, Jon and his wife are amazing people and are a wonderful conversation. Their house is easily the best house on the block. Everything from pictures to their profile to the neighborhood description was spot on.

The neighborhood has seen better days but we all agreed that we never felt safer. Cameras and gate on site. Close to all things downtown. But our favorite part was the care Jon not only showed for his guests, but his neighborhood. He was up every morning walking his dog, picking up trash and just generally bring a great human and caring.

You will see real Detroit in this location but you will also see genuine hosts and top notch humans who care and give you hope and faith in humanity. You will absolutely love the house, but you will absolutely be inspired by good humans after your stay. 10/10.

God bless Jon and his wife!

Jon’s place was perfect for the weekend we were there! You can tell he put a lot of thought and love into this space.

He was very welcome and warm, even making us cookies one day! It was my friend’s first time in Detroit and he said because of Jon’s home, he felt like he was back in the comfort of his own home. Thanks again Jon!

This was an amazing experience. The property was beautiful but still incredibly comfortable. I was initially a little nervous because we brought two small children and I was afraid they'd break everything in sight but the home was so well laid out that my kids ran from end to end without any disasters.

The REAL highlight of our stay was our amazing host! Truly, they went above and beyond from the moment we booked to make this a great experience. SUPER responsive any time we needed anything (literally everything from fresh linens mid trip, to rearranging furniture, to block outlets, to brining us a whisk to make pancakes for my son's bday, to providing extra power strips so we could plug in all of our laptops).

No over exaggeration, they were AMAZING!

Jon and Inna's airbnb is beautiful - tastefully appointed with a mix of modern and classic furniture, original art, and all the necessities (plus some)!

It's spacious, bright, and super clean. Our family of 7 - ranging from 8 months old to over 70 - had a very comfortable time. Jon waited for us despite our very late arrival and made us feel so welcome and safe. He was also kind to let us check out a couple of hours late, allowing us to sleep in! Will certainly stay here the next time we are in Detroit.

Cute, safe, well-appointed, comfortable, a sweet chalkboard welcome note, and Jon even treated one of my housemates to a warm bagel for breakfast!

We were in town for a show at the Majestic, and sure, you could be closer, but this place was cute and a small Uber $ to get to the show. Jon and Inna were super good to us, we would and will totally stay here again!

My colleague and I were in town for some meetings over a two-day visit, and Jon and Inna's home was an absolutely perfect spot- convenient, comfortable, and with all necessities provided- Jon was extremely gracious and made sure we were settled in when we arrived, and then made sure we had everything we needed each day.

The home has a well-appointed kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedrooms, and the front porch is a bonus outdoor space. The neighborhood was quiet both nights we were there, and I would highly recommend this home to anyone else.

Jon and Inna’s Detroit Blue House is a lovely remodel of a by gone era home with high end modern updates. It is both beautiful and functional as you feel you stepped into a magazine.

It is as described, better than pictured and easier to find than I expected. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. The bath towels were warm fluffy thick cotton, easily accessible, plentiful, neat and fresh. Making food and cleaning up was simple as everything needed was in easy reach, easy to find, and easy to put away. Full size refrigerator was cold and pristine clean with fresh ice in freezer trays.

The large dining table was comfortable and cleaned up in a breeze even as it looked too nice to eat on. The open flow of the living area allowed for quality family time. The big screen tv drew in the younger kids and the teens found good books to read. We were able to share the one bathroom just fine for the extra space and private shower. The three bedrooms were tastefully decorated with no clutter.

We felt very safe and comfortable with the owners living upstairs of this older urban style duplex. Detroit needs to recover and this home is a big start. We could see that, yet felt proud to be apart of this neighborhood getting back on its feet. Meanwhile, we got a 5 star experience at a much more affordable price. We feel it was family friendly. The kitchen wall is a chalk board and my kids were quick to write thank you pictures on the bottom half.

There was so much attention to detail. The owners have been very kind in all communication and the stay was very comfortable in all regards. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends and family that travel through Detroit.

We plan to come back again.

Jon Thanks for a great stay! The beds were comfortable, the place was clean and the location was within 10 - 15 minutes of most of our activities for the weekend.

With 6 adult females in our group, we had more than enough space and everyone was pleased with inside the unit. We had off-street parking for 2 vehicles.

Jon and I communicated before and during the stay and he was great. Overall fabulous stay!

Comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Those are the words I’d use to describe the Blue House. The neighborhood is in transition, but we felt very safe the entire stay. The hosts are welcoming and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.

The house is spotless and they’ve done a great job adding modern conveniences while maintaining the historic charm, like all of the woodwork, tiles, and fireplace. The off street parking is great as well.

We didn’t get to use the back yard area, but it looked very cute! We would absolutely stay again.

My family of 8 stayed 2 nights in the Hew Detroit Blue House (Fri-Sun). This house has been brought up to meet most modern expectations. Everything in the the house is new and in great shape. As for the Hosts, they do deserve the title of super host.

I did end up chatting with Jon the 1st night for probably 30 min and it was enjoyable. We only had 1 small request which he was able to help with in minutes, which is when our chat started. The only thing that would improve this Airbnb is the neighborhood. As stated in the "Where you'll be" section, the neighborhood does have a number of homes that are in need of repair & could make some nervous. That said, here is what I observed during out stay, these observations were only for about 30 min while waiting on the porch for a doordash delivery....

As the host stated, most of these folks are just living their lives. One neighbor outside shooting hoops for probably 20 min across the street, one was cleaning out her car and taking in an infant "bucket" & the final one was a pregnant mother taking one of her kids to do life. As for noise, Friday was super loud between 12-2am ish from a group of bikers that were coming up and down the street repeatedly. Night 2 was much quieter.

I wanted to let others know what we witnessed outside during our visit @ the Detroit Blue House. With that said, the Hosts are super & the house is very well done. Their property & ability to host earns them an excellent Score from us!

This home is as stylish and clean as advertised. It is a gorgeous and charming place to stay with great space, beautiful decor, spacious and fully equipped kitchen and bath, and the friendliest and most helpful hosts you’ll ever find.

Great location. Yes it’s Detroit and you need to drive to things but it’s right off the Lodge freeway and easy to go downtown or to northern burbs. We felt very safe, it stayed warm inside (even though it was like 10 and snowing). Great selection of games and movies, all the streaming you need, great wifi.

Door Dashers usually took an hour or more so plan accordingly. Definitely check out Cass Corridor, go see downtown, or enjoy adorable Royal Oak or Ferndale just a quick drive north.

We will definitely be back to The Blue House when we come back to Detroit.

My two adult children and I had never been to Detroit. We chose to stay at the Blue house and we’re so happy with our choice.

The place is immaculate! You couldn’t find dust or dirt if you tried. Jon met us when we checked in. He was so nice and informative. We had plenty of room, coming and going was very easy around Detroit, and security was top notch, not that we ever felt uncomfortable.

It was just another example on how the hosts thought of everything. It snowed while we were there and the walk was repeatedly shoveled and clear. We would definitely stay there again!

The Blue House is a lovingly restored 1925 house. Bright, clean and cheerful. Jon and Inna have created a beautiful space. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is gorgeous and the natural light plays off the hardwood and tile-work.

From the eclectic artwork to the books and plants. It all speaks to the overall pride they have in their home. Jon was there to greet us when we arrived and I felt quite secure at The Blue House knowing Jon was looking out for us.

This is one of the BEST AirBnB’s I’ve resided in during a visit to another city. Jon is OVER accommodating. First of all, it was very clean. You will get just what you see in the pictures.

Jon also lays out the guidelines clearly. So, there will not be any surprises. I also love how he accommodated my children. Thanks so much Jon for understanding and assisting me in our little mishap. You freakin Rock!

Also, did I mention how comfortable the beds were? From the linen to the pillows to the bed itself! You are bound to get a great nights sleep. He’s invested in the comfortability of his guest and it shows! Plus, the bonus is that it is greatly secured!

The neighborhood is more of a revitalization neighborhood. But, Jon has done a great job at making sure guests feel safe and yes, we did! The Detroit Blue House is a must stay if your in the Detroit, MI area!
Thanks for being a true SUPER HOST, Jon!

Detroit Blue House should be at the top of your consideration list. For being nearly 100 years old, Jon & Inna have really done some lovely updating.

The beds are super comfortable - you sink right in - the bathroom is updated and clean & fresh, with TONS of toilet paper and towels. The hardwood floors are gorgeous, and there is plenty of natural sunlight filtering in. I personally loved sitting on the front porch to get some fresh air and watch traffic go by.

Please note that the house is well secured and neighbors are friendly! I could tell that safety / security was at the top of Jon's list for our stay. He's on it! The location is SUPER close to anywhere you need to get to, just be careful backing out of the short driveway ... that pole comes at you fast ;-)

Would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Jon & Inna!

This property is so beautiful, just as pictured in the ad. The light is glorious, and the furnishings are beautiful. The owners have excellent taste! The beds are very comfortable, and the bathroom is great. There are books everywhere! The kitchen has what you need, and it is really cute. Everything is new and in good condition.

The house is a bit further out from the city center where many of the attractions are, but it is really only a ten-minute drive, so it was not a problem to go back and forth. (Sidenote: check out City Tour Detroit for a wonderful walking tour of downtown!) Jon greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. He is great at communicating and is even mailing us an item that we left behind.

Jon and Inna gave us great restaurant recommendations that we followed. Los Galanes is fabulous, and Slow's BBQ is a DON'T-MISS! I highly recommend staying in this wonderful property!

All I can say is wow. What a great experience! We had such a beautiful stay at The Blue House! It was inviting, cozy, and comfortable. Jon & Inna were great and were the reason our stay was excellent.

They are very communicative and willing to help out always. We even got to visit with them for a bit and see their sweet pup! This spot is what made our trip to Detroit so worth it. We had a great time just hanging out in the coziness of the house playing provided games like Taboo and Cards Against Humanity.

What you see when you book is what you get, and even more! Highly recommend this place for anyone who needs a stay in Detroit.

Thanks again Jon & Inna!
